Polyvinyl chloride has a lower coefficient of thermal conductivity, which means that it retains heat better in the room, as this effect depends on the profile (the area of the profile is an average of about 15-20% that of the entire window – so, it`s not very crucial to the overall heat effect).
PVC windows age more rapidly than the aluminum (from 20 up to 30 years), because it`s made of organic elements. For the same reason, it`s more susceptible to the vagaries of climate, and in case of huge temperature amplitudes the structure of the material breaks down and the profile gets easily distorted.
PVC windows are manufactured and installed more easily, because of the nature of the material itself, which, of course, is softer and flexible than aluminum.
Due to long exposure to the sun the material of the windows wears down and gets yellow.
PVC joinery requires minimal maintenance – requires no painting, treat with special liquids, and it could be clean simply by washing with a soft cloth and soap.
PVC profile has a large linear expansion – 2-3 mm per meter (depending on the origin and it might get even larger).
Production of PVC profiles requires less investment, which ultimately lowers the cost of the windows.
PVC windows have less condensation than aluminium ones. Anyway, if there is humidity in the room above 60%, the moisture condenses less on the profile and easily on the glass, cold walls and corners.
PVC windows enable insertion with multipoint locking affordable. This type of hardware, except the resistant effect, allows for more precise adjustment of the hinges.
Corners of PVC windows are glued, which prevents the room from the air flow, but … on the other hand makes impossible the importation of large crates (for portals, for example) in most of the rooms.
